David McCandless - Data Visualisation

"Information is the new oil" - I'll agree with that!

David McCandless is a journalist and shares his data-detective work with TED on the visualisations he's been creating. Really inspiring in terms of sparking the Sherlock within me and talks a lot of sense about how we may be consuming/designing information in the next few years. I'm over the moon to be in this line of work! Also ordered his book "Information is beautiful" which just arrived in the post :)

The GoodBlimey Player

Warning: this will eat your time up badly. On the plus side, you become the coolest mofo in town when you whack on some of the new mashup tracks you've discovered.

Oh, and did I mention that these are all free (because they're mashups) and you can download them all? Click the arrow button to the right of the track.

No more YouTube annotations

One of the few things left on the internet that pisses me off is YouTube captions and annotations - and now I've just discovered you can turn them off! What a find :)

iPhone battery

I ordered a new iPhone battery replacement kit for my 2 year old iPhone which arrived this morning.

I opened the wrong part of the phone and broke my mic, speaker and charging connector.

The only way I can speak is through the headset which I have to wear all day to hear the damn thing ring! Cheapest way out = £129 for a new phone plus an extra £10 a month on contract. ♥ o2 & apple
